Use the world clock in three steps

  1. Read the seven live clocks. Each shows the time, the day and the difference from UTC.
  2. Type another city into the search box to make it the main clock. The line below it gives its offset and the next clock change.
  3. Move the hour slider to see when a meeting at one hour in UTC falls in each place. For a clock with hands, try the analog clock.

Offsets for the seven places

The table gives the offset from UTC in hours on a January date and a July date in 2026, plus the daylight saving rule.

Why Arizona and Hawaii skip daylight saving

US law lets a state keep standard time all year. Hawaii does, and so does most of Arizona, where long summer evenings are already hot and an extra hour of evening sun is not welcome. As a result, Arizona is on the same time as Los Angeles in summer and the same as Denver in winter. The Navajo Nation, which covers part of northeast Arizona, follows daylight saving time so that its time matches its neighbouring areas in New Mexico and Utah.

Southern hemisphere clocks

Sydney and New Zealand change their clocks in the opposite season from the US and Europe, because their summer is in December. Their summer time starts in late September or early October and ends in early April. During the short periods in March and October when northern and southern changes do not line up, the gap to London and New York changes by an hour, so check the date when you plan a call.

Kenya, Singapore and Guam

These three do not change their clocks. Kenya is on East Africa Time, UTC+3. Singapore is UTC+8, the same as the Philippines, China and Western Australia. Guam is UTC+10, the same as Sydney in winter, but without the summer change.

Frequently asked questions

Does Arizona use daylight saving time?

Most of Arizona does not and stays on Mountain Standard Time, UTC−7, all year. The Navajo Nation inside the state does observe daylight saving time. In summer Arizona therefore matches Pacific Time, and in winter it matches Mountain Time.

Does Hawaii change its clocks?

No. Hawaii uses Hawaii Standard Time, UTC−10, all year, so its gap to the mainland changes by an hour when the mainland changes its clocks.

Which of these places change their clocks?

Sydney and New Zealand do, in the southern hemisphere’s summer, from the first Sunday of October or the last Sunday of September until the first Sunday of April. Kenya, Singapore and Guam do not.

How do I add another city?

Type a city or a zone name, such as Asia/Seoul or Melbourne, into the search box and the main clock switches to it. The list below the clock keeps the seven places.
