Small Text Generator
A small text generator makes tiny letters in three ways: small caps like ᴛᴇxᴛ, superscript like ᵗᵉˣᵗ and subscript like ₜₑₓₜ. Type below, compare the three rows and copy the one you like for a bio, caption or username. A table shows which letters are missing.
- Small capsꜱᴍᴀʟʟ ᴛᴇxᴛ ᴏxᴏᴀᴘᴘ
- Superscriptˢᵐᵃˡˡ ᵗᵉˣᵗ ᴼˣᵒᴬᵖᵖ
- Subscriptₛₘₐₗₗ ₜₑₓₜ OₓₒAₚₚ

Make small text in three steps
- Type or paste your words. Short phrases look best in small letters.
- Compare the three rows: small caps keep the capital shapes, while superscript and subscript shrink and shift the whole letter.
- Copy the row you like and paste it. Check the result, because letters without a small form stay at normal size.
Small caps letters and their codes
Small caps are capital-shaped letters drawn at lowercase height. Unicode has most of them in the Phonetic Extensions and IPA Extensions blocks, because they were first added for phonetic writing. These are the first twelve with their real code points.

Small caps samples to copy
These samples are written with the small capital letters that Unicode has. Tap one to copy it into a bio or caption. The letter x has no small capital, so it stays plain wherever it appears. If you want heavier letters, open the bold text generator.
What is missing in each style
None of the three styles covers the whole alphabet. These gaps decide which words look right:
| Style | What is missing |
|---|---|
| Small caps letters | x has no small capital; q uses ǫ as a stand-in, true small capital Q is U+A7AF |
| Small caps digits | none exist; digits stay normal |
| Superscript letters | q and the capitals C, F, Q, S, X, Y, Z |
| Subscript letters | b, c, d, f, g, q, w, y, z and all capitals |
| Punctuation | no small form for most signs; + − = ( ) exist as superscript and subscript |
Small text, small caps or font size?
Small caps made with Unicode letters are different from the small caps option in a word processor. The word processor keeps the original letters and only changes how they are drawn, so spelling, search and screen readers still work. The Unicode version changes the letters themselves, which makes it portable to apps with no formatting but harder to find or read aloud.
Good uses and limits
- Bios and captions: a short line such as ᴍᴜꜱɪᴄ ʟᴏᴠᴇʀ adds contrast without any formatting.
- Labels: ᴛᴏᴅᴀʏ and ᴏɴ ᴀɪʀ read as quiet tags next to a normal heading.
- Limits: long sentences are tiring to read, and the characters may show as boxes on older devices.

Device check
The letters are copied as shown, and the codes are in the table. We have not yet tested them on specific phones or systems. If a letter shows as a box, email [email protected] with the letter, device and system version. Related tools are on OxoApp.
Frequently asked questions
Are there small caps for numbers?
No. Unicode has no small-capital digits, so the numbers in your text stay as normal digits in the small caps row. Use the superscript or subscript row if you need small numbers.
Why does the letter x look normal in small caps?
Unicode has no small capital x, so the tool keeps the plain x. Small q is also special: the common stand-in ǫ is really an o with a tail, and the true small capital Q is U+A7AF, which fewer fonts have.
Where is small text useful?
It suits bios, captions, short labels and decorative names. It is poor for long text, because small letters are hard to read and some screen readers spell them out.
Will it work in a username?
Only where the site allows these characters. Many sites limit usernames to letters, numbers and a few signs, so use small text in a display name or bio and keep a plain username.
